James McIntosh

Jim graduated from York University in 1982 with an Honours Degree in Political Science and Philosophy and then attended University of Ottawa Law School graduating in 1986. Prior to arriving in Barrie in 1999, Jim obtained broad experience in several practice areas including real estate, corporate/commercial and litigation. Having substantial experience in varied practice areas, Jim is well equipped to provide advice to municipal and private clients on a broad range of issues. His clients include a number of local municipalities and utility suppliers providing general advice in addition to handling specific matters involving land development, land acquisition and land sales. Jim also acts for a major title insurance company and has been its Chief Agent in Canada since 2003. Jim is Burgar Rowe’s Managing Partner.

Jim is an active member of the Barrie Huronia Rotary Club as well as a number of other community organizations including Kempenfest (Barrie) Inc. He is currently President and Board Chair of Hospice Simcoe which is a vital part of the local health network providing support to those dealing with end of life issues. In his spare time, Jim plays some golf, skis and enjoys time entertaining with family and friends.
