Alf Dick
Alf received his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class, and has practiced law in Barrie since his Call to the Bar in 1962. Alf’s practice concentrates on residential real estate transactions (including mortgages and land development), wills, power of attorney, estate administration and corporate matters. He has, for many years, operated a branch law office in the Village of Cookstown, south of Barrie.
Alf has been actively involved in the Barrie community, having served as Part-President of the Barrie YMCA (where he also served as Chairman of the Y’s Capital Campaign in 1975), of the Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia and of the Barrie Real Estate Lawyers’ Association. He served as a member of Barrie City Council from 1982 to 1985 and, in 2000, the City of Barrie presented him with the Spirit Catcher Award for significant volunteer contribution to the community. That same year, Alf was given the Sam Delmar Memorial Award by the Simcoe County Law Association as “Lawyer of the Year”.
Alf enjoys working out at the YMCA, bicycling and reading.
